since fitting the 35's they scrubbed bad on the front bar and mounts so out came the grinder...

Image

only had to cut about 30-35mm off the bullbar

Image

and also the front diff is moved forward 60mm, this is before i cut it back

Image

and after

Image

this is the bullbar mount before i cut it back, the wing things on it used to grab real bad

Image

still rub but not badly, gonna modify the mounts when i make me custom tube bar for the front

since i did the 4-link and had to chop the exhaust, i got a custom made one from the turbo back....

its a 2.5" exhaust with a S/S flexy joint, had the turbo manifold opened up aswell, now spools up at about 1200 rpm and pulls all the way to 4200 and can actually hear it spool up now...

dumps out below and between the fuel tank and diff

Image

Image

Image

and also got these 4.625 front crown wheel and pinion for 260 bucks, just chasin some for the rear at the moment

kept on having problems with the centre bearing setup that the Deo's have... sent my truck to Gibsons Driveshafts to let Chris sort it out..

this is what i was doin to the bearings

Image

new uni joint on transfer end and a 2wd centre bearing, still the same bearing but in a taller frame

Image

Chris machined up a flange to adapt the Patrol uni to the centre bearing and got rid of the 40mm spacer that used to be there...

Image

new lengthened driveshaft, this one has a 4mm wall thickness

Image

cheers fellas, Scotty

and then all of a sudden, snap bang pop....

snapped me rear left axle, twisted the splines and banana'd me rear diff housing.. and their PATROL diffs

Image

Image

so while me truck is away getting fixed a mate gave me some front axles and hubs and CV's for nothing, just spares to get me outta the bush if i break anything

Image

after a quick clean up

Image

hubs still look like new, just need a clean up to

since me truck has been gettin fixed i have been tryin to find a fix for the centre bearing problem...

got onto one of these. their called a pillow block, they have a self aligning bearing in them up to 1.5" and look solid as, they are used in industrial machines with alot of load on them, and in buggies etc

got onto them through work, rang Southern Engineering and can get one for 20 bucks   how cheap is that, considering a standard rodeo centre bearing is 120 bucks...
