ok so here we go,

i eventually got tired of gettin stuck everywhere from bein so low and having ziltch flex so after about a year of owning the old girl i opted for a 2" Old Man Emu suspension lift and some 31x10.5x15 BFG muddies and a Safari snorkel....

Image

bit flexier now, but not much haha

Image

Image

and got some white Sunrasia rims off a mate and didnt like the look of em against the colour of me truck so i painted em black....

then i did a 2" bodylift to get a bit more clearance for the tyres... i made the blocks up out of some 50mm polyurethane and drilled an 11mm hole in the centre of them... for the tray i used 75x50x6 RHS and drilled a 12mm hole in the centre of them....

poly blocks i made up

Image

RHS blocks in the tray, i think ya can see one in there somewhere eehehe

Image

bit more clearance in the guards now.... could of fit 33's but never bothered for only 1" more diff clearance...

then once i started driving the more harder tracks in it she started spittin CV's all the time cos of the lines i tried taking

this was a common sight haha

Image

it broke the CV where it went into the diff and also snapped at the hub and pulled it out by about 25-30mm aswell as disintergrating the crown gear in the hub and the circlip and washer, oh and stripped every spline too

Image

and this happened to, drums used to fill with mud etc,
this happened when i was out at westy, i found a rock and mucked around on it for a moment...

so after all the trouble of breaking the CV's and the breaks etc... i broke 4 CV's not even in a month :o

i decided to go down the S.A.S path... i rang around a few places to see what they quoted etc to do a Live Axle conversion... and figured Seldom Seen Vehicles and Engineering to be the best for what they quoted, and i seen the quality of work they did on the S.A.S Lux in 4WDA a while ago...

so what i have done is.....

Patrol diffs, (had to be shortened for the offset and chassis width of he Deo,120mm)
custom 3-link front
custom King Springs (21" free length, 533mm)
custom made steering arms,draglink,panard etc
drop boxes
custom Patrol steering setup
Tough Dog 40mm Adjustable shocks all round
custom driveshafts front and rear
custom handbrake setup
ass end was leaf at the time, SOA with extended shocks,2" Old Man Emu springs still used in the rear for the time being

here she is, still had the puny little 31's on, look how small they look now haha

Image

Image

not much of a flex shot but the jack only had 3 wheels on it haha

since im an apprentice i didnt have any coin to get some 35's for a month or two... so i whipped up some sliders at work that cost me ziltch...

i used 50mm O/D M/S pipe with a 3.6mm wall thickness, here i am cutting it to length

Image

mandrel bent them up and left a bit of green for safe measures haha

Image

cut some braces and knotched then out

Image

cut another piece of pipe and knotched it to suit the length of me sliders

Image

all welded up and primered the welds so they dont rust for the meantime

Image

made me brackets out of 5mm sheet folded into a L shape and a side welded on, used 75x50x6 RHS for the rails going to the sliders, put the brackets on the chassis and then tacked the sliders into place

Image

all done except paint
