new rig

Postby dieseltech » Sat Oct 02, 2010 10:39 am

this is the only pic i took before dropping it off to the mechanics, ( getting swivel hub seals, new speedo cable, brake load Vv, radiator mounts re-brazed) then up to the panel beaters for a rust repair.
i put my spotties on and painted the sunnies black.
the front seat i got doesnt fit, the rails are about 3 inch's to far apart from eachother. will try and source another one.
if anyone can help with a front and or seat for the troopy, let me know.

panel work done

Postby dieseltech » Sun Oct 17, 2010 12:13 pm

all the panel work is done, cost me $1200.. atleast it's done right and looking good. the rear lokka turned up on tuesday, the front one is on backorder. dont think i'll intstall them untill after the mittagong trip, so i can still compete in the touring class. still waiting on the mechanic to do all the work, should have the car back at home ready for a blue slip by friday.. :D :D

leafs

Postby dieseltech » Tue Oct 19, 2010 7:11 pm

the leaf springs are actually quite good.. has 9 leaf front, 10 leaf rear with big bore foam cell shocks. thought it would ride like a brick but i can definatly say it competes with the patrols coils. very comfy ride and flex's alot more than i thought it would. should be picking the troopy up on friday from the mechanic, then blue slip time.. hope it passes...
