Loose steering arm?

Postby G Unit » Wed Nov 12, 2008 7:41 pm

I can feel something loose under my front end that knocks when ever 1 front wheel hits a bump before the other ( if both wheel hit at the same time it doesnt make the noise).

I put it on stands today and couldnt see anything loose but i did notice i could rotate the steering control arm about 30 degrees or so. Its the arm that the steering dampner is conected to, so does that sound right that it can be twisted so easily? The nuts are tight as so maybe just the bushes are worn?

Any one got any ideas?

I owe, I owe, its off to work i go...

Would have to get someone under the car while giving the steering wheel a turn, that way you can see what the slop is, also check your wheel bearings for play, jack up a wheel that way you wont have the weight of the car hiding any slop.
