Is the car starting ok? do the plugs take a while to heat up? Is the car blowing heaps of smoke?

There's no set replacement interval for glow plugs but the easiest way to test them is to use a test lamp with the wire connected to the positive on your battery, then touch the test lamp probe to the end of the pin on the plug, if the test lamp lights up the plug is ok, if it doesn't light up then the plug is blown. Once one plug is blown it's best to replace them all.
