usually whining from the gbox/transfer is a bearing on its way out, there are about 20 bearings in there. mine squeels quite bad i changed oils from castrol to nulon and its alot better.

i dont know bout the transfer case but our rodeo has some differential back lash that squels when we accelerate where getting it rebuilt but if you can put up with the noise apparently is goes away after a while

could be many of things, as stated, but gears will wear out after so long, but have you changed the oils in your gear box/transfer and diffs?

only reason i ask is because when backing off you can get diff wine, which can be caused from back lash.

just thought i would throw the idea up :)

cheers adam
