They do the same but easier to fit and adjust as there is no major disassembly involved.

castor question

Postby bucketofbolts » Mon Jan 07, 2008 7:34 pm

castor question,

a good mate of mine is having drama's with castor, he has a 6" spring lift, 1" spacers and 8degree castor, (5degree plates and 3 degree bushes)

i have always been told that a 6" spring will need a 5 degree castor,
(for every inch above one is hwat castoer shoould be) thats what ive always been told,

anyway, i have told him mine is 6" springs with 5 degree plates and drives pretty good,

cheers ray

the only way to find out what it needs is to do wheel alignment frst .

get the figures and then get the camber shims or cartor wedges that come close to the messurements you need, then put them in .

then align the front end as this will also change the tracking of the car i.e. toe adjustment.

this is the only way to be sure as every car is different due to wear and stress on the chassis

i hope this helps

Do you know if it was 1.5 positive left or right ?

Castor has to stay positive and can't go under zero and the left hand side has to be between 1 - 1/2 a degree higher than the right.
